Overall Championship Point System // Distribution de points du Championat toute catégories

The Formula Libre point system is intended to promote participation while creating a healthy,
fun competition and recognizing that the field is made up of various cars.
In doing so, it is based on three main criteria:  participation, improvement, standings.

Participation:

  • 10 points will be awarded for participating on a weekend
  • 5 points will be awarded for each race started during the weekend

Improvement:

  • 1 point will be awarded for each second where  a driver beats his personal best time on a particular track for the year.
  • A  maximum of 5 points can be awarded to a driver at any given race. Times will be counted to the thousand of a second and partial points will be awarded accordingly.  (For instance, if a driver improves his best time by 1.453 seconds, he will be awarded 1.453 points).
  • 1 point will be awarded for each second where a driver is faster than the average time set for his class of car over the  weekend.
  • A maximum of 5 points can be awarded to a driver at any given race. Times will be counted to the thousand of a second and partial points will be awarded accordingly.  (For instance, if a driver is faster than the average class time time by 1.453 seconds, he will be awarded 1.453 points).

Standings over the weekend:

  • 1 point will be awarded for each lap completed during a race.
  • A maximum of 10 points will be awarded for qualifying (the first qualifier of any given weekend).
  • 10 points will go to best  qualifier, 9 to second, 8 to third, etc…
  • Anyone qualifying 11th or worse will be awarded 1 point.
  • Drivers that start from the pit area (did not qualify) will be awarded 0 points.
  • A maximum of 10 points will be awarded for final race standing.
  • 10 points will go to the winner, 9 to second, 8 to third, etc…
  • Anyone finishing  11th or worse will be awarded 1 point.
